Included below are select quotes from interviews with the following Browns players during today’s media availability:

WR Jarvis Landry:

On what he thinks about when he hears ‘The Patriot Way’:

“I do not know. I have never been over there. I have heard the phrase, but I do not know what it really means. It means nothing to me.”

On why it is so tough to play at Gillette Stadium:

“Obviously, they are a great football team. They have been a great football team for as long as I can remember. That has a lot to do with it. They do not really make mistakes. You can credit their fans or whatever, but teams go on the road and win in other people’s place a lot of times. That just seems to be one place that teams do not go in there and be very successful.”

On mentally preparing to face a team like the Patriots that does not make many mistakes:

“We can’t beat ourselves. We can’t make mistakes at critical times. We have to match… I would not even really say match their intensity or match what they are doing. I would just say we can’t beat ourselves. That goes for any game no matter who you are playing. You can’t beat yourself.”

On if trying to play perfectly and mistake free can take away from a team’s flow:

“Nothing is perfect. I am sure those guys over there make mistakes, as well. They are not a perfect bunch or a perfect group. At the end of the day, they make more plays than they make mistakes. As long as we protect the ball and do not hurt ourselves, then we have a good chance of winning.”

LB Joe Schobert:

On if preparing for high-profile games against Ohio State while at Wisconsin helped him with preparation for big games like this week at the Patriots England:

“No, I do not think so not really. The game that prepares you the most for the NFL is Iowa – pro style, good offensive line. Obviously, they do not have the skill receivers of the NFL, but those games are definitely a lot harder in terms of doing things than playing a lot of teams in the spread and all of that that college has. NFL teams can’t even line up in formations that college teams do with their people being covered up, X-over formations and all of that jazz.”

On how the Browns defense will perform against New England coming off some rest in the bye week:

“We should be good. Everybody, yeah, a lot of rest. People took some time away to kind of refresh and recharge. A lot healthier coming off the bye, which is always good. I think we will have a good gameplan going into this week, and you will see some good defense on Sunday.”

On facing Patriots QB Tom Brady:
“He is one of the greatest of all time, if not the greatest quarterback of all time. That is an argument for people in armchairs to debate for as long as they want. When you go against guys like that, I told somebody, he was playing in the NFL when I was in kindergarten so he has a lot of experience, and he has seen a lot of things. All of the things I have learned from kindergarten to now, he has spent all of that time learning football that much so he has seen everything. He is still a quarterback. If you get pressure in his face, if you make get him off his spot and if you can disrupt timing on routes, he is human so he will be able to mistakes. You just have to be able to take advantage of that. Obviously, they do a good job of looking at that. They do a good job with their schemes and attacking their perceived weaknesses on your defense so we have to be able to be ready to combat that.”

On if there is a formula to forcing Brady to make mistakes:

“I think easier said than done, but if you get pressure in any quarterback’s face, including Tom, he doesn’t want to get hit right up the middle. He doesn’t want (DE) Myles (Garrett) coming off the edge, bearing down on his blindside. They do a good job. He has a really quick snap to release on most of his throws, but if we are able to lock down in coverage a little bit, make him pump and go to a second or third read and let guys like Myles get some pressure up the middle, get to him and get him off his spot, any quarterback in the NFL, it is hard for him to deal with that.”

C JC Tretter:

On preparing to face a dominating Patriots defense:

“They are an extremely talented group, well-coached. They execute everything well. A lot of it is just preparation. I think they do a lot of things and they have a lot of different pieces that they can put in the same positions that make things look different, but it is a lot of the same stuff but they kind of disguise it well. A lot of that is film study, understanding your gameplan. I think it is a week we need a lot of preparation and a lot of film study, making sure you know what they are actually showing you and not what they are trying to show you.”

On Patriots LB Jamie Collins Sr.:

“Obviously, he is doing some different things there than he did here, but he is a really talented player. They use him well there. It will definitely be a challenge for us, but I think we will be able to handle what we handle.”

On elements  Collins brings to the Patriots defense:

“He is very instinctive and very athletic. He is a big strong guy, but also quick, illusive and can give you troubles pass rushing. He is just really a good overall player.”

On how the Browns OL has performed this week in practice, given there may or may not be changes to the starting lineup this week:

“We feel confident. We feel confident with who we have and what we are going to do. It is about executing and about playing well as a group, a cohesive unit. That is what we have to show on the field. I think practice is going really well this week. We feel really comfortable, but it is going to come down to how we play on Sunday. That is what we have to go out there and do.”
