WR David Bell (8.7.22)

On his status and how it feels returning to practice:

“I feel phenomenal to be back and to be back out on the field with the players most importantly and also being able to finally get out there and be in the offense and being able to run the routes so I can get more familiar with it. Being out was tough. Coming in as a rookie, that is something that you definitely do not want to happen is an injury right off the bat, but working with the training staff and the coaches, they all worked with me to get me back to the best of my abilities.”

On how he sustained the foot injury:

“I had like a stress reaction so it was almost a stress fracture or it was like a small little crack in the bone.”

On if he sustained the foot injury prior to the full team reporting for training camp:

“Yeah, I got an MRI or X-ray a few weeks before we left and then figured that out. Really have just been up here working out with the training staff, trying to get back right.”

On if he sustained the foot injury during veteran minicamp:

“I am honestly not sure. I just woke up one day and it was aching a little bit so I went in there and had to get an X-ray. The X-ray did show what happened. We got a plan together to get me back as soon as possible. It was frustrating because I just wanted to be out there to show what I can do, but it is God’s plan and God’s timing. I am out here right now, and that is what I am looking forward to.”

On returning to practice yesterday and how the foot felt:

“That felt good. Physically, I felt fine. Just staying conditioned and all that, making sure my legs are up under me. I have been doing a lot of things off the field just to make sure that my body is ready to go for when I get my name called.”

On if it is worrying that he sustained the foot injury and is not 100 percent sure how or when it occurred:

“No, not at all. Football is a dangerous sport, as we all know, but if you think of that, then I think for me personally, that [could cause] more injuries. Once that injury is over, you just have to put it behind you and keep pushing forward.”
