TE David Njoku (7.30.22)
On what evolved during his career to get him to where he is now and returning to the Browns on a new contract:
“I would say mostly growth – growth and the love of my teammates. Just trying to build a pact and stay very close. You start playing for not just yourself but the people around you, as well, and the fans. I love the fans.”
On if the Browns’ youth at WR potentially creates more opportunities for the TEs:
“I think everybody is working very hard. It is all to get to one goal, which is win every game, one game at a time. I feel like as long as we put in this work that we are doing, it will happen for all of us.”
On if there is a new vibe among the team as some players have shared earlier in the week:
“It is very hard to explain – I am sure you have heard that more times than I – but it is just a different feeling, and we are just going to keep using that energy to keep pushing us every day in practice and push each other and get better.”
On his first impressions of QB Deshaun Watson:
“I am excited. I can’t wait. I can’t wait for us to get to [play with him in games], whichever week we see him. Hopefully, sooner than later.”
On how hard it is to stay in the present while awaiting word of Watson’s availability for the 2022 season due to a potential suspension:
“Honestly, not that hard. We have to just take each day as it is. Whoever we have, we have to put our best foot forward and just keep working.”
On how the Browns offense can evolve in Head Coach Kevin Stefanski’s third year and adding Watson:
“I see it evolving great. As long as like I said, we just keep putting in that work every day. That is really the power in the pudding. It is just every day grinding and pushing each other to be better than yesterday.”
