TE David Njoku (11.21.22)

On what is most frustrating for Browns players right now:

“I think everything really. This is a frustrating position to be in, especially with the potential we have as a team. Obviously, things just tend to not go our way. It is what it is. I feel no sympathy for myself or anybody here. We have to do our job, and we have to execute at a higher level. It is that simple.”

On if he feels the team is still united and wants to get issues fixed:

“One hundred percent. One hundred percent. I don’t even like hearing that talk. I feel like we are all here for a reason and for a purpose. It is up to us to figure it out. No one got us here in this position besides ourselves. We are a team. With that being said, it falls on all of us, not just one person or a leader. We are all a team, and we all have to do this together. I have no sympathy for us. It is what it is. We have to just work right out of this hole.”

On if working on playing meaningful football despite a 3-7 record is the message for the team:

“Absolutely. This is our job. I feel like obviously at times it hurts to keep pushing and to have things not go your way, but at the same time, that is life. It is what it is. Have to put your hardhat on and get back to work.”

On if he has stepped up as a vocal leader to help spread that type of message among the team:

“I am whatever the team needs me to be. Obviously, I have had my own personal adversity with this ankle injury. It is what it is. No one cares about how my ankle feels or how we feel on an emotional standpoint. It is what it is. There is no time for excuses. There is no time to point fingers. We have to do what we have to do to turn this around.”

On if he was on a snap limit in his first game back from the ankle injury:

“I was, yes.”

On how difficult it was to watch Browns TEs miss opportunities in the end zone:

“Honestly speaking, I always praise my teammates. I am usually one of the people who pushes anyone’s name out there to get opportunities. I don’t feel bad for anything. I feel like we are all professionals and we can all do the job well. Whoever gets the opportunities, they get it, and it is what it is.”
