T Jack Conklin (8.3.22)
On if he slept at the facility during the offseason, given his quick recovery from last year’s season-ending knee injury:
“Not quite – my wife would not have been too happy about that (laughter). I did put in a lot of hours here. Obviously, I want to get back out here and help the team.”
On how he is feeling after coming back from last year’s season-ending injury:
“Good. Good. It is coming along real well. Just getting started back to practicing so just have to ease in and just let my knee get back to feeling used to football. So far, everything has been going great. I feel stronger than I have been in a long time just from putting in all those hours. I feel good.”
On the challenge battling back from the season-ending injury after missing time earlier in the season due to a different injury:
“Yeah, it sucks. To finally get back and thinking I am going to be ready to go and then sit down and then the patella pops open. Not fun, but it is part of the game you play. Stuff happens. I think what really defines you is what you do when something happens like this. Do you let it end your career or do you come back and work your ass off and turn it into a positive and growing experience?”
On if he will be back to start the season:
“I do not want to put any numbers on it or timeline, but I am working towards that. That is my goal, but again, I have just started getting back to practice. We will see how it goes.”
