QB Joshua Dobbs
On how it felt to be back on the field:
“It felt good to get back out there. Battling the elements, but it felt good to get back out there and compete. Getting a good flow with the offense and moving the ball a little bit.”
On if he can see the hard work in practice coming to fruition during the game:
“Yeah, for sure. That’s what’s great about getting back in the stadium, especially competing against a different color uniform, a different team. You are going against different schemes and you’re able to build on the details you are trying to focus on during practice. As well as just operational stuff, like the play clock, you have different situations throughout the game, able to work a two-minute drill. It was good to get back on the field, get back in a rhythm and continue to build on what we’ve been doing in Berea.”
DE Za’Darius Smith
On how much the interior defensive linemen help him as an edge rusher:
“They help a lot. They get a chance to push the pocket. You know, I hate that they sometimes get the slide and get double-teamed, the backs sometimes step up and chip them. We work hand in hand.”
On how good this defensive line can be:
“It can be good. If we keep a great rotation going, coach keeps telling us to do the little things right, and we get that locked down, we’ll be a great pass-rush d-line.”
S Ronnie Hickman
On how comfortable he’s feeling on the team:
“Luckily, I walked into a room with a lot of veterans, so just trying to be a sponge to those guys and learn as much as I can.”
On his second interception:
“I knew I was close to the end zone, so I didn’t want to back up too much. I felt the breaking route, was able to lock eyes with the quarterback and kind of saw him staring at it. I just went to go make a play on the ball and was fortunate enough to come down with it.”
T Dawand Jones
On if the game is starting to slow down for him:
“Honestly, yes. I’m in the film room a lot. The coaches are helping me with the criteria I need to improve.”
On what he’s learned the most from Browns OL Coach Bill Callahan:
“I’m big on my pass pro, so staying square is one of the major things and I want to make sure I harp on that. He’s been harping on that and I think I’ll never stop working on that.”
