S John Johnson III (9.28.22)

On when he learned that DE Myles Garrett was in a one-car accident on Monday:

“I don’t know where I was honestly. I don’t think I found out on time. I think I was a little late. I am just glad he is alright. I heard and something like that happens, it is scary just for anybody. I heard he had a seat belt on. I don’t know if that helped out or not, but that was good. I am just glad he is OK.”

On if it was hard to believe Garrett walked away from the accident after seeing photos from it:

“100 percent. I don’t know the health of whoever his passenger was, but yeah, it is kind of crazy. They said it flipped over multiple times so anytime that happens, you have at least some type of major injury. I am just glad he came out of there clean.”

On how he learned Garrett was OK following the accident:

“Twitter, the news and my phone.”

On the key to containing the Falcons offense, particularly the team’s RPOs and running game:

“They have an experienced quarterback (Falcons QB Marcus Mariota). He has been doing this style of offense for a long time, even back to college. It is going to be tough. We have seen a lot of RPO-type teams, especially in training camp when Philly came here. They have a little bit of it. It was kind of just do your job and see the formation. They can only do certain things out of those certain formations so it is kind of like a discipline week. Everybody has to be laser focused on doing their job.”

On if the Falcons offense is similar to the Ravens’ offense:

“100 percent. The formation, it kind of looks identical to be honest. A different style of quarterback. I think (Ravens QB) Lamar (Jackson) is Lamar. He is kind of a different, but offense is pretty similar.”

On the Browns running game’s production and the challenge as a defense when knowing an opponent is going to run the ball but still not being able to stop it:

“It is like demoralizing. I don’t want to ever be on that side of the ball, but there have been times in my career where you just can’t stop the run. It is just big on big and you know it is coming, especially in a four-minute situation and you are trying to run the clock out. Like I said, it is demoralizing when you are just giving them everything you have, and it is not working. I am glad we have one of those offenses that can do that.”
