RB Nick Chubb (9.7.22)
On playing against former teammate and Panthers QB Baker Mayfield, even though they will not be on the field at the same time:
“It will be fun. It will be a great game. Looking forward to going out to Charlotte and putting on a great show.”
On not playing in preseason games this year:
“This has been the norm for the last couple of years. My mindset is just I have to work harder in practice to prepare myself for the game. I have to finish my runs and make sure I am in great shape. I suppose it should keep me fresher. I guess I will know after the game, but I feel good right now.”
On if not playing in the preseason and taking live hits for the first time in Week 1 has an impact on the body at all:
“It will be something. The last three years, I have been more sore after the first game than any other game, but something I can deal with and recover. We have a great recovery room here so I can take care of my body.”
On if Week 1 is more important than other weeks, given the opportunity to set the tone for the season:
“It is the same. It is the next game up.”
On if the formula of him and RB Kareem Hunt alternating series is a strategy he hopes the Browns look to do again this year:
“I hope so. I hope to kind of go back and forth with Kareem, but that is Coach’s (Head Coach Kevin Stefanski) decision. We will be ready for whatever happens.”
