RB Nick Chubb (7.27.22)
On how it feels returning for training camp:
“It feels good. It has been a great summer for a lot of us here, and we are all excited to be back and get ready to go to work.”
On if there is anything specific he wanted to work on during the offseason summer:
“The same thing I do every year: it is to get faster and stronger.”
On if he thought the bar might break when squatting more than 600 pounds in a video that went viral on social media:
“Not really. That bar is made for that so I trust it. It was pretty good work.”
On the benefits to maxing out on lifts during specific times of the year:
“It is more mental for me. I like to know where I am. Every year, I do that. It has worked for me this far, and I am going to continue to do it as long as I can.”
On if that squat rep was his career max:
“I am not sure.”
On if he keeps track of his personal highs for max-out reps:
“I go by how I am feeling so I do not keep up with the numbers.”
On if squatting is the best weightlifting exercise for him and the RB position:
“I think legs is a big part of running backs. In the whole game of football, I think legs are important. For me, just to feel strong, I think that carries a lot mentally and physically for me. I like to get my numbers right when I head back here to go to camp. That is kind of what I do every year.”
