RB Nick Chubb (11.23.22)

On the Dolphins and Bills limiting the Browns run offense during the past two weeks:

“They played good. They played well against the run. Did some things we couldn’t overcome. Just props to them.”

On why the Bills and Dolphins were more successful than other opponents in limiting the Browns run game:

“They played better than us. That is about it.”

On QB Jacoby Brissett’s performance this season and how Brissett has handled the circumstances surrounding being the team’s starting QB, given this week may be Brissett’s final start of the 2022 season:

“Jacoby has been amazing for us. He is a great person overall and a very good player. He has done a lot of great things here. I love him. I love playing beside him. It has been great playing beside him. I know this last game he is going to give it his all for us.”

On why players gravitate toward Brissett:

“Just how he carries himself. He is a great leader. He is not afraid to speak up. He tells you how he feels. He plays hard. That last game with Buffalo with Jacoby, he wanted to win more than anybody. He was not going to stop until we won that game. He played his heart out. That shows what type of guy he is overall.”

On the importance of establishing even more familiarity with the Browns OL this week due to recent injuries on the unit:

“It is important. The O line has to be on the same page, and they have to have great chemistry. I am sure (offensive line coach Bill) Callahan and those guys will get them ready and get them ready to go.”

On the Buccaneers run defense:

“A bunch of big, physical guys up front. They are huge. Very big. Play physical and play hard. Very good run stoppers. It is a great defense.”

On Buccaneers DL Vita Vea, including in run defense:

“He is a big guy. You see him when you turn the film on. He is a great player, also.”

On if Brissett will still have a strong impact as a leader on the team even when not the starting QB:

“For sure. He is still going to be here. Him and (QB) Deshaun (Watson) are very close, too so I am sure he will be able to talk to Deshaun about things that he sees. They will communicate that. Overall, he will still be a leader for us going on.”

On receiving his fourth consecutive nomination by the Browns for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award:

“It means a lot. It is a special award.”
