QB Jacoby Brissett (11.16.22)
On how well he plays in the snow, given the forecast of snowy conditions at Buffalo this week:
“I have played up there when it was snowing.”
On if he was with the Colts when playing in snowy conditions at Buffalo:
“Yeah, when I was in the Colts in 2017. I don’t want to talk about the results of the game (laughter).”
On if the mindset is to block out tough weather conditions and just deal with the situation as it is:
“Yeah because they have to deal with it, too. It sounds like we are going to get some snow here in the same type of environment that we will play in so get outside and getting practice in that.”
On if there is any way to fully prepare for heavy snow in a game:
“I am from Florida so no, I would not know (laughter). I am the wrong person to ask, but I really won’t think about it.”
On playing in the heat in Miami last week to snowy conditions in Buffalo this week:
“Yeah, from the hottest to the coldest.”
On if the Bills defense will replicate the Dolphins’ defensive gameplan to limit the running game:
“We don’t know what Buffalo will do yet. It will just come down to execution because we had our chances in the Miami game, and it came down to execution and we did a poor job of that. It is always going to come back to us, how we execute, how we finish and how we attack, and then we will see where we are at after that. We just have to do a better job of execution.”
On why the Browns offense has typically performed better on scripted drives to open games than in the third or fourth quarter:
“A week before, you said the opposite. This [league] is just so week to week. We just have to better. Honestly, like I said, it really comes down to execution. Even in some of those games where we have been really strong in the first quarter but we still have not scored on every possession that we have had in the first quarter, it has always come down to execution – one play here, one play there, and that leads into the third and the fourth quarter. Obviously, when you get that deep into the game, you have to play your best, you need to be the most focused and the execution has to be at its highest. This week, we are looking to do that.”
On how he balances preparing for the next two games while helping QB Deshaun Watson prepare when returning to practice this week ahead of being fully available for the Texans game in Week 13:
“That is not my job to balance it. That is the coach’s job to balance how he splits things up and stuff like that. I just have to go out there and prepare how I always prepare, do my job and then control what I can control. That is something I can’t control, and I am honestly not trying to.”
On if he is comfortable with the Browns’ plans for incorporating Watson back into practice:
“For sure. We have talked about a lot of things going into practice and stuff like that of how things will be split up. I feel confident that I will be more than fine going into the game.”
On how it will be different with Watson back at practice and if it will be good to have Watson back on the field:
“Today we will see. If it is bad, we will tell him to stay in for the rest of the year (laughter). It will be fine.”
