LB Sione Takitaki (11.23.22)

On how much time he spent playing MIKE prior to last week’s game:

“I played it my whole career when I was at high school and college so I feel like I was a real familiar with the spot but definitely have to improve what I am doing and what the coaches want me to do.”

On if he likes playing MIKE:

“I do. I do.”

On playing his first game against Buccaneers QB Tom Brady:

“You know what Tom Brady brings. He is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. We definitely have to prepare for him. He knows how to take apart defenses. He is a real smart player. We just have to be aware of everything.”

On how the Browns can solidify the middle of the defense, including in the running game:

“I feel like we have been saying it for weeks, but we just have to be real gap sound. Myself included and everybody that is on the field just doing their job and being gap sound. That is how we are going to stop it. Obviously, we will try to find a ton of other ways to stop them. We just have to keep knocking at it until we get it right.”

On defensive coordinator Joe Woods receiving criticism for the Browns defense’s recent performance:

“It is a share of responsibility. I feel like as players, as I just mentioned, we have to be gap sound and play the call that we have on the field, and we just have to do better. I wouldn’t just put the blame on just one person. It is a team sport so it is a lot of shared responsibility to the sideline to on the field.”

On if opponents have been successful at getting Browns players out of their gaps or what has led to players recent not being as gap sound as needed:

“When we are in our gap, we have to find a way to get to the ball and not just be satisfied just being in your gap. Then just going back to doing your job. I feel like we have to do that a lot better and improve – improve now.”
