LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (9.15.22)

On the NY Jets offense:

“One, they are a fast team. Really experienced. (NY Jets QB Joe) Flacco has been playing a long time. It is not basic, but they do have a lot of fundamental things that they do really well. Of course, there are certain plays that they throw at you and can almost prevent you from doing your assignment so you have to shoo away the eye candy. That is what they throw at you and that is what the challenge will be.”

On the challenge facing Flacco who can attempt and complete a larger number of passes in a game:

“You have to do your assignment at the end of the day. They can do what they do and he can do what he does, but at the end of the day, I think if you do what the coaches ask of you, those results may shift and those results may change. Right now, we are really just focused on what can we do to fulfill our task and to do our job and come what may.”

On the impact of DEs Jadeveon Clowney and Alex Wright and other Browns players batting down passes at the line of scrimmage, along with DE Myles Garrett’s performance:

“It is always exciting when your teammates do great things. We are always behind everyone. The goal is for everybody to just do your job. The goal is for everybody to make plays. That is just what we did. We are always excited for that and always looking forward to getting better.”

On slipping under a defensive player last week and if that was part of the play call:

“Yeah, I guess it was called (laughter). It was called, yes.”

On if the number of touches Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey had last week was surprising:

“Yes, that did. Actually, it did. Not to a like negative degree. I guess they were going with the flow of the game. One of our focuses was McCaffrey, and he was not necessarily that much involved.”
