DT Malik Jackson (9.15.21)

On positive takeaways from Sunday’s game:

“I think we played the run well. I thought we did some things in the pass well. Still some things we need to be more consistent on, but I thought we showed up and let them know, especially in the first half stopping the run and being where we are supposed to be in the pass.”

On the communication from the Browns defense on Sunday:

“I think it went well. I think we just have to finish. For the most part, I think we did well but just have to finish.”

On how satisfied he was with his play on Sunday:

“I wish I would have gotten some more pass [rush] or a sack. That would have made me feel a lot better. I think I did well in the run. Like I said, I just wish I would have taken the edge a little more on my pass rushes and got a few more pressures, but I think I did OK.”

On the performance of the Browns DL as a unit:

“I thought we did well. You have (DE) Joe Jack (Jackson) getting sacks. You have (DE) Myles Garrett and (DE Jadeveon) Clowney converging on the sack, and the interior guys were getting push. So I thought we did well. (Defensive line) Coach (Chris) Kiffin got us right and gave us a plan. I think we went out there and executed the plan. With (Chiefs QB) Patrick Mahomes, you have to be wary of his runs so our pass rushers were not as committed, but I think we are going to get better at that, understand each other and keep working and grinding.”
