CB Greg Newsome II (12.8.22)

On if he has gotten over barely missing his first career interception last week:

“Yeah, I got over it. No, I haven’t gotten over it, but I will get over it soon.”

On the rivalry with the Bengals and facing Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase on Sunday:

“For sure, whenever you are able to go against one of the best and probably the best receiving corps in the league, it is always fun. We are competitors so it will definitely be fun.”

On the challenge facing a division opponent for the second time in a season:

“It is definitely a challenge. It is hard to beat teams twice, let alone once in the league. We are just going to have to find a way to get a win out there as best we can and just play fast and physical.”

On excitement about playing against Chase this week after not being available in the teams’ first matchup:

“Super excited. At the end of the day, as long as we win, I am OK with it. That is our main goal and that is my main goal, but I am definitely super excited to get him back out there.”

On each of the Bengals WRs having unique skillsets:

“They have guys that can pretty much do everything. They all can run any route. It is definitely though to go against a team like that, especially with one of the best quarterbacks. It is definitely tough.”

On why the Bengals tend to bring out the best in the Browns DBs:

“I just think matchup-wise, I feel like our strength and their strength in receivers and DBs. We are competitors at the end of the day so it is definitely a fun game.”
