CB Greg Newsome II (12.13.22)
On the challenges with uncertainty about whether Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, Ravens QB Tyler Huntley or Ravens QB Anthony Brown will start this week:
“I wouldn’t say it is too much of a challenge. I feel like their quarterbacks all kind of do around the same thing. They are not going to really change the offense as much as we have seen in the past. We played them last year when they didn’t have Lamar and kind of kept the offense pretty similar. I wouldn’t say it is too big of a challenge. At the end of the day, we just have to whatever the gameplan is do our job and try to be as successful as we can.”
On the mindset entering this week’s game despite the fact the Browns could win their final four contests of the season but not be guaranteed a spot in the postseason:
“At the end of the day, as competitors you always want to win. You are just trying to go one game at a time and get a win. No matter what, like I said, our goal is to win out. After that, we will see what happens. We have to take it one day at a time and one game at a time, and we are going to approach it as such.”
On if he has had the opportunity to watch much film of Brown, including college tape:
“No, I haven’t.”
On the Ravens running game, including with Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins returning:
“It is always tough. They are a great running team, as you know. It is going to be a little bit different with Lamar not being out there and that extra run threat of him. That will be a little bit better, but at the end of the day, like I said, we have to be gap sound, and we just have to be physical. The game is going to be won in the trenches this week so we are going to have to just be a very physical team this week.”
On what led to the success of Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase last week:
“I really couldn’t tell you too much honestly. They are just always on the same page a lot and found some openings out there. That is pretty much what I have seen.”
