CB Greedy Williams and DT Sheldon Richardson (10.25.19)

Included below are select quotes from interviews with the following Browns players during today’s media availability:

  • DT Sheldon Richardson
  • CB Greedy Williams

DT Sheldon Richardson:

On playing Patriots QB Tom Brady and looking to pressure Brady:

“We are going to New England to play the Patriots, not just one player. He is who he is. We have to go out there, line up and get after him the best we can. He gets the ball out quick. They have that system that he has been in since he has been in the league. We just have to go out there and beat it. Stop the run, get after them and make them one-dimensional.

On what is special about B:
“Yeah, he wins. It is tough to beat him. It is what it is. He stays consistent. They stay true to who they are. They let teams beat themselves most of the time. The defense stays in the game with them and hangs in there a lot. They allow you to make turnovers basically – [they] cause turnovers. They cause a lot of turnovers and keep Tom in the game, and somebody is always going to pull it out in the end or they flat out beat teams. We have a lot of food on our plate this week. Just have to make sure we do our jobs and come in with the right mindset.”

On how to force a team and QB like the Patriots Brady to make mistakes when they rarely do:
“Pressure. Pressure bursts pipes, even the great ones. It is what it is. You just have to overcome it.”

CB Greedy Williams:

On if he is excited to return to the field:

“Oh yeah, it has been a long time. I am happy to be back, and I am ready to get going.”

On playing against Patriots QB Tom Brady in his first game back from injury:

“It is just a great experience. I am ready. I am ready to get back out there and compete – do what I do best.”

On Brady’s’ legacy:

“He is an all-time GOAT in this era. One of the best quarterbacks I have ever seen growing up. Obviously, he has the statistics to prove it. Definitely the GOAT.”

On if he remembers a time in his life when Brady was not playing in the NFL:

“He was at the Combine before I was born. Just growing up and hearing him win multiple Super Bowls. Obviously, a guy winning like that every year, you have to label him one of the greatest.”

On what Brady does differently than other quarterbacks:

“He has been in the league so long so he knows everything that is coming. He knows how to read coverages. He knows how to read blitzes. It is just us trying to do as much as we can to disguise them.”
