CB Denzel Ward (9.30.22)

On seeing DE Myles Garrett back in the building after the one-car accident on Monday:

“I think that is what is most important, I am just glad that he is OK. That is the biggest thing.”

On how the Browns locker room reacted when learning about Garrett’s accident:

“It is just scary news for anybody to have [an accident]. Like I said, most importantly, he is OK and getting better.”

On if he will play on Sunday:

“Yeah.”

On if he was concerned the back and ribs injuries may have potentially kept him out of Sunday’s game:

“No, just precautionary.”

On if the back and ribs injuries occurred during the Steelers game:

“Yeah.”

On the Browns potentially missing multiple starters on defense for Sunday’s game:

“We have guys who need to step up, myself included. We just have to go in there, do our job, communicate and execute and try to find a way to get a win.”

On competing against WR Amari Cooper in practice:

“Amari is a dynamic player. You see what he can do. He has two 100-yard games already. He is on track for a great season. We need him. He is a great player. It is always good to be able to get those reps against him on practice, though.”

On the Falcons offense:

“They have (Falcons QB Marcus) Mariota who is a mobile quarterback back there and is able to get guys the ball. A good running back (Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson). Big-bodied receivers who can catch those 50/50 balls and make plays.”
