Grant Delpit named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns S Grant Delpit has earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Oct. 16-20 (Week 7), the National Football League announced Wednesday.
Delpit helped the Browns to a 31-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins. He played a direct role in two of the Browns four takeaways. Delpit forced a fumble on kickoff in the second quarter and later in the fourth quarter came free on a blitz and recorded a QB hit, which forced an errant throw that was intercepted by Rayshawn Jenkins. The Browns scored 14 points off the two turnovers. Delpit finished the game with two special teams tackles and one forced fumble and added two tackles and a sack on defense.
This is the first career weekly league award for Delpit. He joins K Andre Szmyt (Week 3) as the second Browns player to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week this season.
