Cleveland Browns to celebrate Alumni Weekend, Latino Heritage Month, Play Football and Stay In The Game! Attendance Network Sunday against the New York Giants, presented by Sherwin-Williams (9.20.24)
BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns will celebrate Alumni Weekend as well as Stay in the Game!, Play Football and Latino Heritage Month in one action-packed afternoon at the second home game of the season at Huntington Bank Field against the New York Giants on Sunday, September 22.
Below are details for activations throughout the game:
Alumni Weekend
The Browns will welcome over 80 Browns Legends and alumni back to Cleveland for the annual Cleveland Browns Alumni Weekend. The Legends induction ceremony will kick-off the afternoon during pregame and the alumni flag football game at halftime on Sunday.
- 2024 Class of Cleveland Browns Legends Ceremony
- This year, two individuals who have helped shape the Browns organization will be inducted into the 2024 class of Cleveland Browns Legends. Former Browns kicker Phil Dawson and “Voice of the Cleveland Browns,” Jim Donovan, will be inducted during the pregame ceremony at Huntington Bank Field.
- Phil Dawson – Dawson signed with the Cleveland Browns in 1999 and spent 14 of his 20 NFL seasons kicking for the Browns. During his time in the NFL, Dawson appeared in 305 career regular season games from 1999-2018. He ranks among the all-time NFL leaders in games played (seventh with 305), field goals made (eighth with 441), points scored (11th with 1,847) and field goal percentage (16th with 83.8). In 2012, Dawson was selected to his first Pro Bowl.
- Jim Donovan – Donovan was first named as the radio “Voice of the Cleveland Browns” in 1999 and through the last two decades guided Browns fans through games in the radio booth. Donovan announced before the 2024 season that he was stepping away from the Browns Radio Network after 25 years to focus on his battle with cancer.
- Phil Dawson’s Alumni Flag Football Game, presented by Meijer and Sugardale
- The alumni celebration continues throughout the game as Browns Alumni compete head-to-head in Phil Dawson’s Alumni Flag Football Game, presented by Meijer and Sugardale at halftime. Browns alumni, Joe Haden, and class of 2020 Browns Legend, Josh Cribbs, will serve as team captains of the flag teams in celebration of the game’s Play Football theme.

Latino Heritage Month
As part of the NFL’s Por La Cultura initiative, the Cleveland Browns celebrate Latino Heritage Month with an assortment of in-game incorporations and highlights.
- National Anthem
- Andi Jo Taylor, a local country singer of Mexican Heritage, will sing the National Anthem and kick off the multi-themed game.
- NFL Latino Youth Honors Nominees
- The Latino Youth Honors, in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Procter & Gamble, celebrates the next generation of Latino/Hispanic youth athletes that make an impact on and off the field. The finalist will be invited to the Latino Youth Honors celebration at Super Bowl LVIII and the top winner will receive a $25k scholarship, with the remaining finalists receiving a $5k scholarship each.
- During the third quarter, two local high school seniors will be recognized, on field, as the Cleveland Browns NFL Latino Youth Honors Nominees; Fatima Sardo-Longo, a flag football player from Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and Edson Pacheco, a tackle football player from Painesville, Ohio.
- Fatima Sardo-Longo: A girl’s flag football defensive back from Mayfield Heights, Ohio, was selected as one of two students that will represent the Browns for the Latino Youth Honors Award. Sardo-Longo is a four-sport athlete and upon graduation will have collected eleven varsity letters. She is heavily involved in her community and volunteers as a coach for young student-athletes.
- Edson Pacheco: A tackle football player from Painesville, Ohio, Pacheco is a key contributor on his high school football team, the baseball team and the marching band. He can also be found on the sidelines of soccer and basketball games, filming clips for the videography club.
Stay In The Game! Attendance Network
As part of their commitment to increase attendance, the Cleveland Browns Foundation, Stay in the Game! Attendance Network (SITG!), supported by Huntington National Bank and University Hospitals, will host students and teachers from their network of schools for recognition and participation in-game on Sunday.
- Stay in the Game! Pregame Festivities
- Educators from Stay in the Game! districts will participate in the following pregame festivities:
- Fan Tunnel for run out – Educators from Parma City Schools and Bedford City Schools
- US Flag Holders during National Anthem – Educators from Mansfield City School District, Garfield City School District, Cleveland Metropolitan School District and Medina City School District
- Honorary Coin Toss Captains – Ohio Teacher of the Year for 2024 and 2025
- Educators from Stay in the Game! districts will participate in the following pregame festivities:
- Stay in the Game! Student Job Shadow Opportunities
- Five students from Maple Heights City Schools and a student from Euclid City Schools were chosen to shadow Cleveland Browns staff and learn, firsthand, what it is like to work for an NFL team. Selected for their interest in the career path and dedication to their school attendance, these students will have the opportunity to shadow the following positions: photographer, social media, mascot handler, PA Announcer, on-field host and as Assistant Manager with Browns Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Personnel, Glenn Cook.

- High School Game of the Week
- The Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week (HSGOTW), presented by Ohio CAT, in association with ForeverLawn, is now in its fourteenth consecutive year. Since its inception, nearly nine million votes have been cast for weekly matchups on ClevelandBrowns.com, making the Game of the Week page one of the most visited on the site.
- The winning team from the selected Game of the Week – covering Weeks 1-10 of the high school regular season – will receive $2,500 for their football program.
- Head Coaches & Game MVPs from Week #4 and #5 will be recognized during this week’s game.
