Browns sign QB Jameis Winston and QB Tyler Huntley (3.20.24)

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have made the following transactions:



QB Jameis Winston

QB Tyler Huntley (unrestricted free agent)


Winston (6-4, 230) is entering his 10th NFL season out of Florida State. Originally selected by Tampa Bay as the first overall pick in the 2015 draft, Winston has appeared in 93 career games with 80 starts with the Buccaneers (2015-19) and Saints (2020-23). He has completed 1,763 of 2,882 career passes (61.2 percent) for 22,104 yards with 141 touchdowns. He has added 1,214 career rushing yards with 11 scores. Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards in 2019 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015. Last season, he appeared in seven games as a reserve for New Orleans. Winston was the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner.


Huntley (6-1, 205) is entering his fifth NFL season out of Utah. Originally signed by Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in 2020, Huntley has appeared in 20 career games with nine starts. He has completed 221 of 342 passes (64.6 percent) for 1,957 yards with eight touchdowns. He has added 509 career rushing yards with three scores. Huntley was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022. Last season, he appeared in five games with one start for the Ravens.
