BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have signed QB Eric Dungey to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team placed WR Derrick Willies (knee) on its practice squad/injured list.
Dungey (6-3, 227) is a rookie quarterback out of Syracuse, who originally signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in May. At Syracuse, he played in 39 games with 38 starts from 2015-18, posting 786 completions for 9,340 yards and 58 touchdowns. Dungey also ran for 1,993 yards and 35 touchdowns on 543 carries, en route to becoming one of five all-time ACC quarterbacks to total 11,000-plus yards of total offense and 90-plus scores. He hails from Lake Oswego, Ore.
