Browns sign LB Matthew Adams and CB Mike Ford (3.21.23)

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have made the following transactions:

Adams is entering his sixth NFL season out of Houston. Originally a seventh-round pick by Indianapolis in 2018, he has appeared in 68 career games with 12 starts during his time with the Colts (2018-21) and Bears (2022). He has amassed 57 career tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, while adding 24 stops on special teams. Adams appeared in 10 games with three starts with Chicago in 2022.


Ford is entering his sixth NFL season out of Southeast Missouri State. Originally signed by Detroit as an undrafted free agent in 2018, Ford has appeared in 61 games with nine starts with the Lions (2018-20), Broncos (2021) and Falcons (2022). He has recorded 47 career tackles on defense and 23 special teams tackles. He appeared in all 17 games with the Falcons in 2022.
