Browns sign DE Bryan Cox (11.13.19)

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have signed DE Bryan Cox. To make room on the roster, the team waived LB Malik Jefferson.
Cox is a 6-3, 270 pounds and in his third NFL season out of Florida. Originally signed by the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Cox has appeared in 19 career games and recorded 17 tackles and one fumble recovery. He appeared in one game with the Panthers this season before being waived on Nov. 8. His father, Bryan, played 12 seasons in the NFL and was an assistant coach with the Browns from 2009-10. He is a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Cox will wear No. 94.
Jefferson appeared in nine games this season as a reserve.
