Browns place C Nick Harris on injured reserve, add two to practice squad

 

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have placed C Nick Harris (ankle) on injured reserve and signed WR James Proche II and C Cameron Tom to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team released RB Gary Brightwell and DT Siaki Ika from the practice squad.

Harris, a fifth-round pick by the Browns in 2020, has appeared in 45 games with six starts. He saw action in five games this season with two starts.

Proche (5-11, 193) is in his fifth season in the NFL out of SMU. Originally a sixth-round pick by Baltimore in 2020, he has appeared in 57 career games with the Ravens (2020-22) and Browns (2023-24). He has registered 26 career receptions for 281 yards, while adding 62 punt returns for an 8.7 average. Proche will wear No. 11.

Tom (6-4, 285) is in his fourth NFL season out of Southern Mississippi. Originally signed by New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Tom has appeared in 14 career games with the Saints (2018-20), Dolphins (2021) and Chargers (2023). He spent time this preseason with the Commanders. Tom will wear No. 64.
