Browns elevate CB Robert Jackson to active roster (9.20.19)

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have signed CB Robert Jackson to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team waived RB Elijah McGuire. In addition, the team signed CB Donnie Lewis Jr. to the practice squad.
Jackson is 6-2, 207 pounds and is officially in his first NFL season out of UNLV. Jackson spent the first two weeks of the season on the Browns’ practice squad in addition to six weeks on the Browns’ practice squad as a rookie in 2018. Jackson appeared in all four preseason games this year and recorded six tackles on defense and two on special teams. He is a native of Fort Myers, Fla. Jackson will wear No. 34.
Lewis Jr. is a 6-0, 190 rookie cornerback out of Tulane, originally selected by the Browns in the seventh round. He spent Week 1 on the club’s practice squad. Lewis played in all four preseason games, collecting four defensive tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams. He’s a native of Baton Rouge, La.
