BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have claimed TE Brenden Bates via waivers from Houston. To make room on the roster, the team waived CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse.

Bates (6-5, 255) is in his second NFL season out of Kentucky. Originally signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2024, Bates has appeared in 10 games with the Jets, Browns and Texans. He appeared in three games with the Browns in 2024 and spent time on the club’s practice squad in 2025.
