Andre Szmyt named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns K Andre Szmyt has earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Sept. 18-22 (Week 3), the National Football League announced Wednesday.
Szmyt connected on all three of his kicks (seven points scored) with under four minutes remaining in the game as the Browns topped the Green Bay Packers, 13-10, at Huntington Bank Field. He converted a 55-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to give the Browns the victory. The game-winner marked longest successful walk-off field goal in Browns history (FGs made w/ 0:00 left).
This is the first career weekly league award for Szmyt. He is the first Browns player to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week since K Dustin Hopkins won in Week 7 in 2023.
