Andre Szmyt named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns K Andre Szmyt has earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Sept. 17-21 (Week 2), the National Football League announced Wednesday.

Szmyt connected on all three of his field goal attempts and both PATs during the Browns 23-19 victory at Tampa Bay. He accounted for 11 points and converted field goals from 50, 34 and 34 yards. Dating back to last season, Szmyt has been successful on his last 18 field goal attempts.

This is the second career weekly league award for Szmyt, who was also AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 3 in 2025.
