Browns Training Camp Notes, Aug. 1, 2022

 

  • The Browns made the following roster moves today:
    • Activated T Jack Conklin from active/PUP.
    • Signed WR Derrick Dillon.
      • Dillon (5-11, 175) is officially in his first NFL season out of Louisiana State. He was originally signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and spent the past two seasons (2020-21) on Giants’ practice squad. Most recently, Dillon played with the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL, where he tallied 28 receptions for 386 yards and four touchdowns. He hails from Franklinton, La.
    • Waived WR Isaiah Weston (knee) with an injury designation.

 

  • The following players did not practice today due to injury: WR David Bell (foot), DT Sheldon Day (back), WR Anthony Schwartz (knee), LB Anthony Walker Jr. (groin), CB Denzel Ward (foot), DE Stephen Weatherly (knee) and WR Javon Wims (illness).

 

  • A total of 16 puppies have been adopted this year at the Browns Puppy Pound, presented by Sugardale. Since the program’s launch in 2015, 641 puppies from the Northeast Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) have been adopted by Browns fans at training camp practices. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit no-kill pet shelter located in Parma.   • Launched in 2019, “Bring the Dawgs Out” welcomes youth and high school football programs onto the field to greet Browns players and coaches as they head out to practice. Today, Lou Groza Youth Football was the first group to “Bring the Dawgs Out” during 2022 training camp.

 

  • During open sessions of Browns training camp, all Browns fans in attendance can visit the Alumni Autograph Stage, presented by Keep It Fun Ohio, to collect an autograph of one of their favorite past players from 1-2:30 p.m. Today’s esteemed guest was Browns Legend Felix Wright.

 

  • University Hospitals, the official health care provider of the Browns, provided the first 1,000 fans entering the CrossCountry Mortgage Campus with a UH-Browns themed seat cushion. Courtesy of the Browns and their partners, the first fans to enter the gates of each training session will receive a special team-themed promotional item as quantities remain available.
