Browns Training Camp Notes (7.31.21)

For Immediate Release

July 31, 2021

  • The Browns made the following roster move today:
    • Signed WR Davion Davis.
      • Davis (5’11, 190 pounds) is a first-year player out of Sam Houston State. Prior to joining the Browns, he played for the Blues of the Spring League in spring 2021. Originally signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2019, he has appeared in two NFL games.  Davis is a Hutto, Texas native and will wear #18. Davis participated in the Browns’ mandatory minicamp in June as a tryout player.

  • The following players did not practice today due to injury: Tony Fields II (foot), S Ronnie Harrison Jr. (hamstring).

  • In recognition of their ongoing commitment to the Northeast Ohio community throughout the pandemic, the Browns hosted 75 frontline heroes as VIP guests during today’s “Back Together Saturday” training camp practice. The group included representatives from University Hospitals, East Cleveland City Schools, American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, USO of Northern Ohio, MedWorks, Berea Fire Department and City of Cleveland Parks and Recreation Centers, which helped with vaccine distribution.

  • A total of 15 puppies have been adopted at the Browns Puppy Pound at training camp this year. The Browns Puppy Pound, presented by Sugardale, returned to training camp for the seventh consecutive year and since the program’s launch in 2015, 587 puppies from the Northeast Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) have been adopted by Browns fans at training camp practices. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit no-kill pet shelter located in Parma. This year, Sugardale will also provide new owners with a puppy starter kit (while supplies last), as well as host a station for the family’s first photo together. For more information on the Northeast Ohio SPCA (9555 Brookpark Road, Parma, OH 44129), visit the organization’s website.

  • The Browns hosted the Annual Cleveland Browns First and Ten Blood Drive at 12 sites across Northern Ohio, including FirstEnergy Stadium, to benefit the American Red Cross. The event provides fans an opportunity to participate in the First and Ten volunteering movement. Browns alumni were on site at select locations, where all donors also had the chance to win great prizes, including Browns memorabilia. The Annual Cleveland Browns First and Ten Blood Drive continues to be among the largest blood drives to aid Northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Browns First and Ten campaign was established in 2014 to inspire fans to volunteer in and help their communities throughout the world by giving back for at least 10 hours each year. By giving blood, fans are contributing to the First and Ten movement by helping others in need. To schedule an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter the code “Browns” or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
