Browns Training Camp Notes, July 30, 2022

  • The Browns hosted their first of 11 training camp practices open to fans at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus.

  • The following players did not practice today due to injury: WR David Bell (foot), T Jack Conklin (knee), DT Sheldon Day (back), WR Anthony Schwartz (knee), LB Anthony Walker Jr. (groin), CB Denzel Ward (foot), DE Stephen Weatherly (knee) and WR Javon Wims (illness).

  • WR Isiah Weston left today’s practice with a knee injury.

  • The Browns Puppy Pound, presented by Sugardale, returned to training camp for the eighth consecutive year and a total of 10 puppies were adopted today. Since the program’s launch in 2015, 635 puppies from the Northeast Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) have been adopted by Browns fans at training camp practices. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit no-kill pet shelter located in Parma. For more information on the Northeast Ohio SPCA (9555 Brookpark Road, Parma, OH 44129), visit the organization’s website.

  • As part of the Cleveland Browns’ commitment to assisting the development, safety and growth of youth and high school football throughout Ohio, Browns Give Back presented a $10,000 grant to the Akron Rubber City Kings prior to today’s training camp session. The Rubber City Kings, whose homefield is Akron’s Buchtel Griffin Stadium – one of the most recent recipients of a new high-quality synthetic turf through the Browns long-term field project – will use the donation to acquire new helmets, shoulder pads, uniforms and additional field equipment. The organization has provided Akron youth opportunities to compete in youth football and cheerleading for 13 years and is a member of the North Coast Youth Football Conference, including under the leadership of Mac Stevens and Mike Payne for the past 11 years.

  • Today, the Browns supported the Northeast Ohio community by once again hosting the Annual Cleveland Browns First and Ten Blood Drive at 12 sites across Northern Ohio, including FirstEnergy Stadium, to benefit the American Red Cross. The event provided fans an opportunity to participate in the First and Ten volunteering movement. All presenting blood donors at each blood drive received a commemorative Browns T-shirt (while supplies last) and the chance to win Browns memorabilia. The Annual Cleveland Browns First and Ten Blood Drive continues to be among the largest blood drives to aid Northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Browns First and Ten campaign was established in 2014 to inspire fans to volunteer in and help their communities throughout the world by giving back for at least 10 hours each year. By giving blood, fans are contributing to the First and Ten movement by helping others in need. To schedule an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter the code “Browns” or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). • During open sessions of Browns training camp, all Browns fans in attendance can visit the Alumni Autograph Stage, presented by Keep It Fun Ohio, to collect an autograph of one of their favorite past players from 1-2:30 p.m. Today’s esteemed guest was Browns Legend Hanford Dixon, who was the most recent addition to be recognized in the Browns Alumni oversized bobblehead collection that fans can enjoy and take pictures with during training camp.
