RB Nick Chubb (12.7.22)
On facing the Bengals for the second time this season and challenges when playing division opponents in the second matchup of year:
“It is always tough. We know each other very well, and we know what this game brings. It will be a tough challenge because, No. 1, they are a great team. They are really on fire right now. It will be a great challenge for us, but we look forward to it.”
On if the team assumes the Bengals ‘want revenge’ following the Browns’ win on Monday Night Football:
“Yeah, I am sure they are.”
On the Browns possessing a five-game winning streak against the Bengals:
“It is a new game. It is a new week. We can’t go over what we did in the past. We have to look at it as today and right now. All that has happened in the past, it doesn’t really do anything for us now. Come in today and get back to work.”
On excitement with the threat QB Deshaun Watson provides in the passing game to complement the Browns running game:
“It is exciting for sure. Deshaun is a great player, a special player and can make amazing plays. I think with him and a combination of what we already do will be great.”
On the challenges when the team really has to work hard in the rushing game to gain yards rather than being able to establish big holes and long runs:
“That is part of it. Being in the NFL for five years now, I understand that it just happens like that sometimes. It may not always work your way, but sooner or later, you keep pounding and something will break. Just our team mindset is always to keep running the ball no matter what.”
On if he talked to WR Donovan Peoples-Jones about breaking tackles on the punt return TD:
“Yeah, I talked to him. It was special to watch. He made an amazing play. He is really what got us started on offense and just as a team overall. He made that big play and got some points on the board, and after that, I think everyone turned it up a couple notches.”
On his individual success against the Bengals in recent seasons and if he feels there are some teams he matches up better against:
“I don’t think so. I think it is just week by week. We just happened to play one of our best games during that week. I don’t think it is anything about a certain team. I think it is more about us being us at certain times of the year.”
On being highlighted when attending last night’s Cavaliers-Lakers game:
“It was great. It was my second time going to one since I have been here. It was great to finally get out, see the team and see a couple of teammates. Just a great atmosphere that was going on there.”
