WR Amari Cooper (12.1.22)

On QB Deshaun Watson returning to practice as the starting QB yesterday:

“It was cool just to see him out there and out practicing. You could see it in his face that he was kind of excited to be out there. It was pretty cool.”

On if practice felt any different with Watson as starting QB in practice for the first time since the season started:

“Not so much. You could just see the command that he had in the huddle and the detail that he had even in the meeting rooms talking about the plays and stuff like that so from that aspect, yeah.”

On if Watson’s accuracy is what stands out the most:

“Yeah, he is real accurate. That is just one of the traits of a good quarterback is that accuracy of putting it on the money right there in your chest. Yeah, that definitely is something that stands out for sure.”

On if he and Watson are developing a strong chemistry:

“Yeah, he has great anticipation, but really, you attribute that to his hard work. He is real good at, ‘OK, this is my receiver. I am going to look at film of him to see how he runs routes’ so that he can know how to anticipate throwing you certain routes.’”

On if Watson has watched film on him to know where he likes to catch the ball:

“Yeah, he is always trying to find a way to get better. (Pass game coordinator/wide receivers) Coach Chad (O’Shea) was sending him some clips of me from previous teams that I have been on just so he can get a better feel.”

On the spark that Watson can provide the Browns offense:

“Just the usual spark that comes with Deshaun Watson. He is a great player. You have been able to see it over the years. One of the big things that he does well is when a play breaks down, he is able to kind of make something out of nothing.”
