LB Sione Takitaki (12.1.22)

On Buccaneers RB Rachaad White’s long run last week and how the Browns defense responded:

“We adjusted. Kind of went over what happened on the play and what we could do better. I feel like it translated to the field and kind of knocked it out for the rest of the game.”

On if it is frustrating that the Browns defense has had some strong performances last week but hasn’t been consistent throughout the entire season :

“No, it is not frustrating. Kind of you said it, just shows that we can do it. We just have to be consistently doing it on every drive and every game.”

On if the Browns defense improved with gap integrity last week:

“Definitely, we got better at that. There is always room for improvement. We are going to build on that success and continue throughout the rest of this season.”

On if the Browns defense improved with penetrating the backfield last week:

“It wasn’t perfect, but I definitely thought we had better penetration. That third-and-1, JOK (LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah) got in the backfield and got that stop. We just have to be consistent and build on it.”

On if the Browns defense is starting to find a grove in run defense:

“I feel like we are finally improving and emphasizing. I feel like we have been struggling with it the last few weeks and kind of been emphasizing that in practice and film. Even myself, just trying to get better in my run gap and my run fits.”
