CB Denzel Ward (11.10.22)
On if he is going to play on Sunday:
“Yes, sir. Yes sir. Can’t wait.”
On being out for multiple weeks while in concussion protocol:
“Yes, it has been rough. I have just been in the protocol and just going through all of the steps in there trying to get cleared. Just glad to be out of it and back with the team.”
On how concerned he was about the most recent concussion due to sustaining concussions earlier in his career:
“Just trying to take care of my health and take care of my brain. Was just trying to find ways to treat the brain in a sense. I was just doing things like getting in the hyperbaric chamber and light therapy, staying out of the light and loud noises and stuff like that. Just trying to do whatever I can personally to help heal it.”
On when he sustained the concussion:
“The running back broke through when I was making the tackle. It wasn’t a hit on the helmet. It was when I went down to the ground my head hit off the ground. I went over to the sideline, and they diagnosed me as having a concussion.”
On if it felt like a concussion when it initially occurred prior to the evaluation:
“Yeah, it was just a little bit.”
On when he began to start feeling normal:
“Normal? Probably a little while ago, but I am good now.”
