LB Sione Takitaki (11.1.22)

On if the Browns defense had its best tackling performance last night:

“Yeah, I feel like we tackled well, knowing that this team likes to work out in space. We have been working weeks and continue to emphasize it during practices. I feel like we did  a great job during practice emphasizing tackling and doing all of that stuff. Coaches do it well, leaders do it well and players and everybody. I feel like it showed out there on Monday.”

On individually performing well with more opportunities on defense:

“Obviously, it is the NFL. When opportunities come, you want to take advantage. I feel like wherever I can help, and coaches felt like I was the next guy up, kind of just went out there and did my job. I felt like that is all I was doing, getting the calls from the sideline, coaches calling some great plays and I was just out there doing my job. It was fun to be out there with the guys.”

On if he has proved that he can do more than being the SAM in base defense:

“I am willing to be wherever to help out the team. If the coaches feel like I can be at WILL, MIKE, SAM or wherever it is, wherever I can help out the team, that is where I am going to line up that week and go all out. Wherever the team needs me.”

On the difference that has led to success for the Browns defense in the past two weeks:

“I feel like we did a really, really great job this week communicating at practice and emphasizing the small details and things. I feel like coaches and players did a good job. At practice, the communication was through the roof, and I feel like it translated to last night. You could see everybody being on the same page and talking. Sometimes, it is just two guys talking; last night, we had five, six or seven guys communicating and alerting things. I feel like just our preparation was great. Hats off to the coaches and players taking advantage of the week during the week, and when game time comes around, it is easy out there to fly around and make plays.”

On linebackers coach Jason Tarver saying the game is slowing down for him:

“For sure. I feel like when Coach Tarver and them got here – that was my first year actually really playing – I was young in my game and had some struggles. Year 4, I know I am a vet and a lot of stuff that I have seen so maybe see the game a little slower and going out there and just playing and not thinking too much.”
