LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (10.20.22)

On Ravens QB Lamar Jackson:

“My thoughts are pretty similar to last year. As time goes on, I am pretty sure it will be similar. He is a dynamic player. He will always be a dynamic player. Focusing on keying him and making sure we slow him down, whether it is play-actions or whether it is zone-reads, etc. I think my mindset will always be the same.”

On the Browns defense performing well against the Ravens last year and if the team can replicate it this year:

“Is it possible? Of course. It is also possible that hey, we may make some mistakes. The key is to make sure we get our fundamentals down and our communication the right way, try to do some of the similar things that we did last year and make sure that we contain those playmakers that they have over there with No. 8 (Jackson) and No. 17 (RB Kenyan Drake). They have a lot of playmakers and a lot of people who are emerging. That is what we are focusing on.”

On if the Ravens running game is broken into two categories of Jackson and the rest of the team getting the ball:

“I would say 80 percent of the offense runs around Lamar. Of course, it will be Lamar first and so on and so on.”

On aspects of Jackson’s game that can’t be fully appreciated until stepping onto the field:

“It was the speed. You watch the film, and you are like, ‘OK, it is going to be fast,’ and the quickness, also and those two married together. It is the speed and the quickness that he has, and he is able to get from one point to another and he is able to see and react quicker than some of the guys I have ever seen.”

On having a lower snap count last week:

“I believe (Head) Coach (Kevin) Stefanski also answered the question and basically said the same thing, it is a gameplan thing. He wanted to do some things on defense that he thinks (LB) Sione (Takitaki) may have matched up better with.”
