WR Amari Cooper (10.13.22)
On the Patriots defense under Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick:
“They play well. They play hard. They play disciplined. They are not going to give you anything. They are not going to beat themselves. It is a huge challenge for us going into this week.”
On if it is different preparing for teams under Belichick, who is one of the best coaches of all time:
“No, I don’t think I would say that it is probably different from watching them on film and stuff like that. They put an emphasis on taking away your best attributes and your strengths. To me, teams usually have that type of emphasis like in the playoffs and stuff like that – I am not saying that other teams don’t want to win really bad – they just approach it different.”
On if the Patriots defense’s attention to detail is evident when watching film:
“Yeah. From a defensive back standpoint, yeah, I do. They play true to their leverage and stuff like that.”
On the Patriots Ss:
“I think all of their DBs are playing good football. You have some guys who are doing some really good things for them. Like I said before, it is going to be a challenge for us in the receiver room.”
On the chess-match aspects of game planning for opponents who are going to try to take away your strengths while trying to counter those moves before learning what the other team is going to do:
“It is not really a chess match for me. It is more of a thing for the coaches. I don’t call the plays so it is not really applicable in this situation.”
