RB D’Ernest Johnson (11.11.21)
On if he is prepared to have 30-plus carries on Sunday if called upon:
“I am just ready to go out there and just try to go 1-0 this week. That is our main focus is just going 1-0. When I get the opportunity, just try to make the most of them.”
On how strong performances in the past have built his own confidence, in addition to the team’s confidence in him:
“It just means a lot that the team trust me and that they have a lot of faith in to go out there and make plays. That speaks a lot.”
On being the only RB who was on the Browns roster last week to currently be in the position’s meeting room:
“It is an unfortunate situation that all of this occurred, but I just try to stay safe, keep my mask and just try to do all of the little things right.”
On the biggest takeaway from his performance against the Broncos:
“Just going out there and being me. Just going out there and having fun. That is it. Just going out there, having fun, me more and being the best teammate that I can be. Those are the biggest lessons.”
On if he has been in contact with RBs Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton and John Kelly Jr. and how they are feeling:
“It is an unfortunate situation. Those guys, they are feeling good. Just hoping to get those guys back before Sunday.”
On his role in recent weeks after rushing for 146 yards against the Broncos:
“Right now, I am just playing my role. Whatever they have me doing, I just try to go out there and do it to the best of my ability. If it is coming in on short downs, third downs or whatever, I just have to go out there and make a play for the team. That is my biggest key.”
On how he is approaching this week with the uncertainty of who will be available at RB on Sunday:
“The same way I approach every week. Just taking care of my body and study a lot as if I am going in to start, like I do every week. Just going out there and having fun.”
