On the importance of DE Jadeveon Clowney recording two sacks last Sunday:

“It was important for him. I know he was excited on the field and even when we were in the locker room. It was a big momentum shift for him because he knows he wants to get started on a good foot. Right now, he is looking forward to keeping that thing rolling and carrying on.”

 

On what it meant to see Browns teammates respond with strong performances last Sunday:

“That is exactly what I want out of my teammates. I know they expect the same out of me. I know I was not doing enough after that second game, and I think we all just wanted more out of ourselves and we knew we had more in the tank. Right now, we have to keep on proving it against every opposition we face.”

 

On if felt like last week’s success was all because of execution or if it was a little bit of a different scheme last Sunday:

“I think it was a little bit of both. I do not want him (defensive coordinator Joe Woods) to sell himself short. He dialed it up a little bit in some ways, but we did execute better than we have been. That is just part of the work we have been putting in, staying a little bit later in meetings, meeting a little bit more as a defense and not needing the coaches to get us right and just correcting ourselves.”

 

On if he expects Vikings QB Kirk Cousins to get rid of the football quickly to help negate the Browns pass rush:

“Absolutely. He has two pretty good pass rushers on his own team that he has to deal with every single day so he is going to know that he has to get the ball out to his skill guys. Otherwise, we are going to be coming, whether it is down the middle or along the edges.”

 

On how much is he looking to bat a Cousin’s pass down when releasing early:

“He has the most batted passes in three years. We know that he is trying to get it out quick so we have been told and working on getting our hands up, jumping and batting down passes so we can get him on second-and-long and third-and-long.”
