Texans DE J.J. Watt (11.15.20)
Texans DE J.J. Watt:
On Browns RB Nick Chubb’s play at the end of the game:
“From my vantage point, we strung out the play all the way to the sideline. He was about five yards behind the line and then, somehow he ended up at the one-yard line.”
On what happened in the second half that allowed the Browns to get more yardage and make more plays:
“We knew what kind of game it was going to be. Obviously, with the weather being what it was, it was going to be a run and play-action type of game and we were going to have to matriculate the ball down the field. Frustrating. Frustrating, obviously, and not where we wanted to end up.”
On whether this loss is more frustrating than other losses:
“No. Every single loss is frustrating.”
On what the difference was in defending the run in the first and second half:
“I’ll have to watch the film and see. I’m not 100 percent sure.”
On the biggest thing the defense needs to change to beat the Patriots next week:
“Stop them from scoring more points than we score. I mean, we obviously have to stop the run and try and get after the pass.”
On what his emotions were after Browns RB Nick Chubb’s run at the end of the game:
“Frustrated. We lost the game.”
On how much of the run defense’s issue is gap integrity:
“It is gap integrity, tackling. It is guys trying to do a little extra or we are not doing enough. It is a little bit of everything.”
