Browns sign WR James Proche II to active roster, place DT Shelby Harris on injured reserve

 

BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns have signed WR James Proche II to the active roster from the practice squad and placed DT Shelby Harris (elbow) on injured reserve. In addition, the club signed DT Michael Dwumfour to the practice squad.

Proche (5-11, 193) is in his fifth season in the NFL out of SMU. Originally a sixth-round pick by Baltimore in 2020, he has appeared in 60 career games, including 17 with the Browns over the past two seasons. He has registered 28 career receptions for 299 yards. Proche will wear No. 11.

 

Harris appeared in 14 games this season and amassed 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

 

Dwumfour (6-1, 296) is in his third NFL season out of Rutgers. Originally signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2021, he has appeared in 12 career games with the Texans (2021-22) and 49ers (2022). He has amassed 13 career tackles, a half-sack and one fumble recovery. He spent training camp with the Browns in 2023 and spent time on the Browns’ practice squad this year. Dwumfour will wear No. 62.
