LA Rams QB Jared Goff:
On the win:
“Obviously, I’m happy with a win. Anytime you can come out on the road and get a win is a good night. We’re going to enjoy this. I’m going to be a bit upset at myself for that last series. You just can’t make that decision there at the end. The game should have been over far before the defense had to go back on the field. That’s on me, and I’ll get better from it.”
On the low-scoring win
“Again, I’ve said this before: When we get a win, especially on the road, we’re going to enjoy it.”
On his relationship with WR Cooper Kupp:
“Yeah, he showed up today. He did a good job. He just continues to get himself open, and he finds ways to be on the same page as me. He and (WR) Robert (Woods) both played well I thought. Again, I thought we had some great moments on offense, especially in the passing game where I thought we were moving the ball pretty good down the field. We had our chances. Ultimately, we only won by a touchdown. I wish it would have been more than that offensively. But, our defense held us down tonight, and we did our thing.”
On trying to force balls to Kupp:
“Honestly, I don’t think that we’re forcing the ball to anyone. (WR) Cooper (Kupp) had a good night tonight, and he had a good game last week. Those guys are all so dang good. I feel good with all of them. Any of them that need to get us back in rhythm, I trust. Cooper just happened to be that guy tonight.”
On his footwork tonight:
“The defense was doing a good job. Myles Garrett is a great player, and so is (DE Oliver) Vernon. I thought we did a good job protecting. There were some moments when I had to escape the pocket and use my legs. I don’t prefer to, but I will if I have to. I was able to draw a penalty on one of those and pick up a first down.”
On the Browns’ pass rush:
“They’re great players. Those guys are good. They’re a good defense, a good D-line. I know they didn’t have their DBs in this week, but they still did a good job holding us down.”
On the offensive adjustments made to combat the defense:
“We just settled in. I don’t think there was anything in particular. We just got more comfortable. It was (OL Jamil) Demby’s first game, and I gave him some time to settle in. I thought he did a good job, especially in the second half. He settled into his own and really did his thing.”
On adjustments at the half:
“We had some different stuff we wanted to run, but I think, ultimately, it was just to keep executing the way we were. Even in the first half, we move the ball pretty well offensively. We had a couple untimely penalties and some uncharacteristic stuff for us, so we’ll clean that up and get back after Tampa this week.”
On LA Rams OL Jamil Demby’s ability to read hand signals:
“He’s been doing that for a long time. We’ve worked through everything the entire week during practice. Like I said, it’s his first start on the road. He had to settle in. Things happen. I remember my first start, and you have to settle in. It takes time. I thought he did a great job once he did settle in.”
On whether or not he feels less pressure because the defense is playing so well:
“I don’t think pressure is the right word. We still want to do our thing and keep going. Again, a win is a win. We’re happy with a win. I’m going to look internally at what I can do to be better, but they are playing well. It makes you feel good, and it gives me confidence while I’m sitting on the bench watching them.”
